چکیده
Abstract Galaxy mergers are common processes in the Universe. As a large fraction of galaxies hosts at their centres central supermassive black hole (SMBH), can lead to formation binary (SMBHB). The such is more efficient when SMBHs embedded nuclear star cluster (NSC). NSCs dense and massive stellar clusters present majority observed galaxies. Their densities reach up 107 M⊙/pc3 masses be as few M⊙. direct detection an SMBHB observationally challenging. In this work, we illustrate how scale structural dynamical properties NSC help identify nucleated that recently went through merger possibly led SMBHB. Our models show imprint signatures on shape, density profile, rotation velocity structure NSC. strength depends mass ratio between orbital initial conditions merger. addition, number hypervelocity stars produced linked properties. also contribute disc galaxy.

Supermassive black hole binary mergers
Massive merging black holes will be the primary sources of powerful gravitational waves at low frequency, and will permit to test General Relativity if we identify candidate galaxies that are close to a binary black hole merger. In this paper we show that for a typical range of mass ratios of the two black holes the final stage of the merger is preceded by a rapid precession and a subsequent sp...
متن کاملSupermassive binary black hole mergers
When galaxies collide, dynamical friction drives their central supermassive black holes close enought to each other such that gravitational radiation becomes the leading dissipative effect. Gravitational radiation takes away energy, momentum and angular momentum from the compact binary, such that the black holes finally merge. In the process, the spin of the dominant black hole is reoriented. O...

Massive merging black holes will be the primary sources of powerful gravitational waves at low frequency, and will permit to test General Relativity with candidate galaxies close to a binary black hole merger. In this paper we identify the typical mass ratio of the two black holes but then show that the distance when gravitational radiation becomes the dominant dissipative effect (over dynamica...

I overview the current understanding of the evolution of massive black hole (MBH) binaries in the center of the host stellar system. One of the main questions is whether the stellar dynamical effect can make the MBH binary hard enough that they can merge through gravitational wave radiation. So far, theories and numerical simulations suggested otherwize, since the hardening timescale becomes ve...

www.physicstoday.org After decades of effort, numerical relativists can now simulate the inspiral and merger of two black holes orbiting each other. That computational triumph has come none too soon—physicists are on the verge of detecting gravitational waves for the first time, and at long last they know what to look for. Black holes are strong-field objects whose properties are governed by Ei...
